PRONTO ITALIAN SANDWICHES NOW OPEN AT CHICAGO O’HARE INTERNATIONAL AIRPORT

CHICAGO, IL – March 19, 2025 – Hinsdale-based sandwich brand Pronto Italian Sandwiches is now open at ORD. Established non-traditional food and beverage operator, The Grove, Inc. (TGI), opened the new restaurant in partnership with ACDBE partner Emmanuel Partners, Inc. To celebrate its newest opening, TGI held a Grand Opening and Ribbon Cutting event on Thursday, March 13.

“As a native Chicagoan and Italian American, I’m thrilled to bring Pronto to ORD, where TGI has been a proud operator for over 3 decades,” said Nina Madonia, CEO of TGI. “Pronto Italian Sandwiches captures the essence of Italy. The experience embodies all the simplistic ingredients and delicious flavors of what you find walking around the streets of Rome. Mangia!”

The restaurant group behind Il Poggiolo and Nabuki opened the original Pronto Italian Sandwiches location in February 2024 to great reception, selling out on opening weekend. Pronto Italian Sandwiches is a celebration of Italian cuisine and culture. Nestled inside Il Poggiolo’s historic building on 1st Street, Pronto brings authentic Italian sandwiches to the heart of Hinsdale. A new location is coming soon to downtown Naperville.

Crafted with local and imported Italian ingredients, the menu offers a taste of Italy’s rich culinary tradition. The secret to Pronto’s success is their homemade Schiacciata bread, a masterpiece anchored by the time-honored tradition of Italian bakeries. Schiacciata – which means “pressed” – has the perfect balance of a crisp, crunchy crust and a soft, moist interior that defines every bite. It is the perfect complement to the finest imported Italian meats and cheeses.

The grand opening event was attended by members of concessions manager Unison Consulting, the City of Chicago Department of Aviation, and general contractor Maman Corp, as well as Pronto Italian Sandwiches’ Owners Peter and Dana Burdi and Chef Saul Maya. Attendees were able to sample signature menu items such as the Scorsese, Pacino, and Tarantino sandwiches.
